Our 2024 u-pick apple season opens Saturday, August 31st!
When the air turns crisp and the leaves start changing it’s time for apple picking. At Jenkins-Lueken Orchards, we have over 500 apple trees waiting to be picked (plus pumpkin picking too!).
The start of the apple picking season changes from year to year. This year our opening day is Saturday, August 31st. Please call ahead if you have a particular variety of apple in mind to pick. We can give you a more accurate estimate for the variety you are interested in.
How Does it Work
It’s simple. Head on over to our U-Pick Orchard (200 ft past the farm stand on your right), where you will find ample parking. Then, head on over to our friendly staff who will have apple picking bags available for sale.
There are two different bags to choose from. There are smaller peck bags and larger 1/2 bushel bags available. We do not require that each guest purchases a bag. Purchasing one bag for your entire family is quite alright.
Once you have purchased your bag you are ready to go! Each apple variety is clearly labeled so you can pick and choose exactly the apples you want to take home. Having a hard time reaching? We have plenty of apple pickers that you can use.

Everyone has their favorite variety of apple and we don’t want you to miss out. Below we’ve outlined some of our most popular varieties and when they are typically ready to be picked. Please remember that this is just an approximation. If you really have your heart set on a particular variety, simply call ahead and we can give you more details.

Hours of Operations
Our main U-Pick fields are open Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.
During the week, we have a smaller U-Pick area available near our farm stand. This U-Pick area is open during our normal business hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take credit cards?
Our u-pick fields are cash only. However, you are not out of luck! Visit our farm stand and let them know you want to pick apples. The cashier will swipe your card and give you a receipt. Head on over to our u-pick fields with your receipt and our staff will give you your bag to pick.
How do you get here from NYC?
Our orchards are off of exit 18 of the NY State Thruway. There are Trailways buses daily from NYC and they will drop you off right in the heart of New Paltz. From there, taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts are available to our orchards (approxiamtely a 7 minute drive from town).
How do I know which variety is which?
We label our rows with the apple variety. This way, you always know exactly what you are picking!
